ERNST - HAPPEL ESTADIUM (It is the only "five star" in the EURO)



The biggest Austrian stadium is located 10 kilometres from the centre of Vienna and its' face washing 'has cost some 37 million euros. The seating capacity has been expanded and the bleachers can accommodate over 50,000 spectators.

EURO 2008 AUSTRIA - SWITZERLAND



The Euro 2008 (officially, European Football Championships or the Uefa Uefa Euro 2008 ™) is the thirteenth edition of the Euro, the main soccer tournament between teams from Europe organized by Uefa. This version of the tournament takes place in Austria and Switzerland, between June 7 and June 29, 2008, being the second time that the tournament is organized by two countries (the first was Euro 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands Low) and the first that is hosted by one of these nations.

The candidacy of Austria and Switzerland was proclaimed by the General Committee of Uefa, December 12, 2002, beating candidates from Russia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina-Croatia, Greece-Turkey, Scotland-Ireland and a joint candidacy Scandinavia comprising Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
